Newborns

Newborns are my favorite subject to photograph!  I am overwhelmed with joy when I see how their new family adores and cherishes them.  I enjoy photographing newborns in peaceful sleepy and curly poses and love to capture their tiny features.  If you are interested in a newborn session, the time to contact me is when you are still expecting.  When you book your session we will pencil in your due date to save you a spot on the calendar. The session date will be finalized as soon as the baby is born. True newborn portraits must be taken during the first week of life.  Four to seven days old is the best window of time because they are still sleepy and flexible enough to curl up for posing.

I come to the comfort of your home and bring the whole setup to pose and photograph your newborn.  In addition, I make sure to create timeless images of the newborn with their parents and siblings.  It is a joy to capture the awe and sweet connection that happens in those first few days.

Newborn sessions are best when scheduled for the morning.  It is not uncommon for a session to last 2-3 hours, which allows plenty of time to feed and comfort.

Custom Newborn Session Fee – $250. Your session fee includes Erin’s time and talent for 2-3 hours, a portrait shoot in your home, 30-40 images presented to you in a private online slideshow and gallery.  Sessions more than 30 miles from the zip code 91101 have a session fee of $300.  The session fee does not include any images, printed or digital; these are purchased separately.

Newborn and Maternity Combination Session Fee – $450. A maternity session may only be booked in combination with a newborn session.  Maternity sessions are best booked between weeks 34-36.

All clients pay the session fee to Erin Sullivan Photography at the time of booking to reserve their session date.  Once portraits from the newborn session are ready for online viewing, they may be purchased a la carte or in one of our popular collections, which begin at $800.
