Portraits

Custom lifestyle portrait sessions take place at your home (indoors and outside) or a different outdoor location of your choice.  When I first come to meet you I will take a few minutes to get to know your children, which will help them feel comfortable and candid around me and my camera.  If we are shooting inside your home I will check out different rooms to find which ones provide the best window light.  I strive to create natural, candid portraits that will truly capture the essence of your baby, children, or family.  I will provide a combination of casually posed and candid images from your session.  The best time of day for natural light photography is in the morning or the late afternoon.

Every family is different, so each session will be slightly different.   You won’t hear me asking anyone to “sit down and say cheese” during the session.  I want the kids (and their parents) to play and have fun, which allows me to get some truly one-of-a kind shots.  I might ask you to do some fun things like give each other a super tight group hug, all pile on the bed to bounce around and then read a story, or have a race with each other in the backyard.  These interactions are what will create the real expressions and highlight the true personalities and family bonds.  Some families have baked cookies together during their session while others have played their favorite board games.  If you have a particular activity that you like doing together we can discuss how to incorporate it into your custom lifestyle portrait session.

Custom portrait session fee – $250.  Your session fee includes Erin’s time and talent for one to two hours, a portrait shoot at the location of your choice, 30-40 images presented to you in a private online slideshow and gallery.  The session fee includes up to five family members.  For more than five family members, simply add $25 per additional person.  Sessions more than 30 miles from the zip code 91101 have a session fee of $300.  The session fee does not include any images, printed or digital; these are purchased separately.

All clients pay the session fee to Erin Sullivan Photography at the time of booking to reserve their session date.  Once portraits are ready for online viewing, they may be purchased a la carte or in one of our popular collections, which begin at $800.
